About the role
Position: Legal Executive Assistant
Location: Jersey City, New Jersey
Salary Range: up to $70,000
Maron Marvel has an immediate opening for a legal executive assistant.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provide secretarial support to two or more lawyers at the firm.
Assist paralegals as needed on administrative/non-billable tasks as assigned by attorneys.
Prepare, edit, and proofread all legal documents.
E-filing experience and familiarity with state, local and federal courts.
Maintain attorneys’ calendars and organize appointments, including court deadlines.
Organize all legal documents and ensure they are updated.
Research requests for information.
Assemble documents and materials for depositions, court appearances, meetings and hearings.
Ensure all court documents are in order and filed before deadlines.
Account for and record attorney billable time.
Assist in making travel arrangements for attorneys’ as necessary.
Submit attorneys expense reimbursements.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Track, order and receive office supplies.
Perform various administrative office management tasks as necessary.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
In-depth knowledge of legal documents and terminology.
