About the role

Pay Range: $17.95 - $22.95 Job Overview: The Forge Helper I assists in maintaining safe and efficient forging operations. The candidate will be responsible for following directions from supervisory staff, keeping track of part serialization, maintaining equipment, and ensuring all company safety policies and quality standards are upheld.
Responsibilities: Maintain a basic understanding of forging processes and procedures. Follow directions provided by the Blacksmith or Supervisor. Keep track of the serialization of parts. Maintain a safe and organized work area while displaying concern for maintaining equipment such as manipulators and furnaces. Follow all company policies and safety procedures. Ensure that the parts being worked on meet the highest quality standards. Skill/Knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, as well as draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to operate a forklift and other powered industrial equipment.
Working Conditions: Overtime may be required.
Physical Requirements: (Due to nature of job, The candidate must have): Ability to stand for prolonged periods. Ability to walk quickly. Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Ability to reach with hands and arms. Ability to communicate effectively in a loud and hot environment. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb onto equipment. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and in extreme heat.
