Role Description: The Payroll Manager is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll operations for designated employee groups. This includes managing payroll processing cycles, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, taxes, garnishments, and benefits, and maintaining compliance with German and applicable international regulations. The role involves resolving payroll issues, responding to employee inquiries, coordinating with HR and Finance teams, and supporting audits and reporting requirements. The Payroll Manager will also drive process improvements, maintain payroll systems and documentation, and support the implementation of new policies, tools, and controls.
Qualifications: Strong skills in Payroll Administration and Payroll Management, including end-to-end processing and controls. Knowledge of Payroll Taxes and Garnishments, with the ability to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Experience managing Employee Benefits and integrating benefits data into payroll calculations. Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems; advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities. Solid understanding of German labor, tax, and social security regulations; experience in a banking or financial services environment is an advantage. Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setup. Effective communication skills in English; German language skills are highly beneficial. Relevant vocational training or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, plus demonstrated experience in payroll management.
