Sr. Automation Development Engineer Canton, OH Area The Headhunters has been exclusively engaged by an industrial firm that develops intelligent automation solutions for the oil & gas, utility, data center, energy infrastructure, and industrial markets. They’re looking for a Sr. Automation Development Engineer to join their growing team. Position Description: In this role, you’ll work with customers to develop custom control panels for intelligent substation devices used in the power distribution, utility power, data centers, transit, and oil & gas industries. This includes work in HMI programming, integration, testing, and onsite support. Other responsibilities include: After HMI development, you’ll inspect the equipment, install it at customer sites, and test them to make sure they meet requirements Review and interpret client specifications to produce project Functional Design, drawings and test documentation Design and configure SCADA systems (Wonder Ware InTouch, Allen Bradley Factory Talk, etc.)Be the primary customer point of contact to make sure issues are addressed and their needs are understood
Qualifications: BSEE and 5+ years of experience in automation and control systems, preferably for power distribution and control products (substations)Experience in HMI programming and communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.)A background in PLC programming is a strong plus Strong understanding of electrical design (circuits, power, etc.) with the ability to read detailed electrical drawings. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to travel between 5-25% for onsite installations.
Compensation: $100-135K base plus bonus (depending on experience level)This is a direct-hire position, with a full benefit package. The company only considers US Citizens or Permanent Residents for this position.
