As Health and Safety Manager, you'll serve as the organization's primary safety professional—leading a proactive safety culture and Safety Management System (SMS) across flight, ground, and support operations. Key responsibilities: Lead the organization's safety strategy and Safety Management System (SMS), with a primary focus on injury and incident prevention Maintain a visible presence across bases and operations to identify hazards, engage employees, and strengthen safety practices Lead or coordinate investigations of injuries, incidents, near misses, and hazards, including root cause and contributing-factor analysis Develop safety data and reporting that demonstrates prevention impact and supports actionable recommendations for leadership Maintain OSHA, CAMTS, and other aviation/EMS-related compliance requirements, documentation, audits, and reporting Coordinate occupational health programs, including fit-for-duty processes, drug and alcohol screening, and bloodborne pathogen requirements Partner with People Operations on injury, workers' compensation, and restriction-related matters while maintaining clear functional boundaries Serve as the primary safety advisor to the CEO and a key advisor to the COO and senior leadership Facilitate safety training, communication, meetings, and employee engagement efforts Personally administer the day-to-day operations of a single-person safety function, prioritizing work based on risk and regulatory need The perks Competitive pay Paid holidays Paid time off (PTO)401K retirement plan & employer match Health insurance (Medical/Dental/Vision)Basic term life insurance Short- & long-term disability insurance Accidental death & dismemberment insurance Employee assistance program Bi-weekly payrollA dynamic and collaborative environment where your contributions are recognized and celebrated You need Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Safety, Emergency Management, Healthcare Administration, Aviation Safety, Public Health, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered 5+ years of progressively responsible safety experience in EMS, aviation, healthcare, transportation, or another high-risk operational environment preferred Demonstrated experience with safety programs or Safety Management Systems, incident investigation, root cause analysis, and injury prevention Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and occupational safety principles applicable to EMS or comparable high-risk environments Ability to analyze safety data, identify trends, and translate findings into practical prevention strategies Strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, and influencing skills across frontline, operational, and executive audiences Ability to work independently and manage both strategic and administrative responsibilities Willingness to travel regularly to operational basesCSP, CIH, CSHO, CHSP, or other relevant safety credential preferred; experience with Just Culture or High Reliability principles a plus PeopleAK is here for you!
