About the role
- Drive territory growth by developing and executing strategic sales and account plans aligned with company objectives
- Identify, cultivate, and close new business opportunities across target customers, markets, and applications
- Build and expand strong relationships with direct customers, distributors, and strategic accounts
- Serve as a trusted commercial partner by understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities, and connecting them with the right technical solutions
- Conduct regular customer visits, sales calls, presentations, and business reviews to strengthen relationships and uncover new opportunities
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline while providing accurate forecasts, territory updates, and opportunity tracking
- Stay ahead of market trends, competitive activity, pricing dynamics, and evolving customer needs to identify opportunities and inform sales strategy
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, R&D, Operations, Quality, and Customer Service to support customer initiatives, new opportunities, and product launches
- Develop proposals, support pricing discussions, and negotiate commercial terms within company guidelines
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, customer events, and industry meetings to expand relationships and strengthen market presence
- Maintain accurate CRM records, account plans, forecasts, and sales activity
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related field preferred
- Successful B2B sales experience within the ingredients and/or flavors industry
- Demonstrated success managing a sales territory, developing customer relationships, and growing revenue
- Strong business development and consultative selling skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and translate them into solutions
- Experience with CRM systems, forecasting, pipeline management, and account planning
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the Northeast
