About the role
School Assistant The School Assistant provides outstanding customer service to students, parents, patrons, and staff, and serves as an ambassador for the School of Ballet Arizona and its community programming. The Assistant's primary duty is administrative support; they must maintain knowledge of the SBAZ mission, policies, and programs and communicate this information when appropriate. Responsibilities include reception, maintenance of registration and attendance records, scheduling, assist coordination of teaching and musical staff, registration/enrollment, and accounting support. This is a part-time position with a variable schedule that requires evenings and weekends.
Essential functions:

Unlock and secure doors; greet parents, students, program clients, and guests as they enter the building.
Answer phone calls, emails, and general inquiries; escalate messages and issues to staff as appropriate.
Coordinate with security staff to supervise student drop-off and pick-up when required.
Supervise class check-in and process class payments as required.
Serve as an information resource for school families and other guests.
Address student, parent, and faculty needs as able during shifts.
Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, professional attitude.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
High level of digital literacy; proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable working with databases.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to handle business matters professionally and confidentially.
Consistent reliability in attendance and job performance.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
Work environment:
Primarily office-based. Event support at the main office and external sites may be required.
Some evenings, weekends, and occasional on-call work are required.
Requirements
Physical demands:
Extended periods of sitting and heavy computer use.
Light physical effort required; ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Travel required
Occasional travel to external event sites within Maricopa County.
Must be willing and able to commute to the office on a regular basis.
Required education and experience
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred education and experience
At least 1 year of work experience in a customer-service oriented role
