About the role

Salary: $105,000 - 125,000/year We are searching for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to lead technical failure analyses across multiple domain areas, including traffic collision reconstruction, plumbing and water intrusion diagnostics, occupational safety evaluations, and product failure assessments. You will join a highly collaborative, team-oriented organization that prioritizes a healthy workplace culture and professional growth.

Perform site and physical evidence inspections, with a primary emphasis on motor vehicle collision assessment. Retrieve and extract Event Data Recorder (EDR / "black box") information from impacted vehicles. Perform mathematical analyses and computer simulations to reconstruct dynamic collision events. Manage forensic case files end-to-end, taking projects from initial intake through final report delivery.
Candidate Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME / MSME).Active Professional Engineer (PE) credential preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years in specialized mechanical engineering disciplines. Solid grasp of core vehicle architecture, including powertrains, structural chassis design, thermal behavior, and vehicle dynamics. Willingness to travel regionally (including occasional overnight stays) for site inspections. Exceptional verbal articulating skills and clear, concise technical writing abilities. Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously while maintaining strong peer relationships; exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to manage strict project deadlines.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
