Job Title: Camera Prototyping Engineer
Location: Redmond, WA (Hybrid/Onsite)
Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
We are seeking a Camera Prototyping Engineer to support the development, integration, and validation of advanced camera systems used in emerging technologies and intelligent imaging applications. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys building prototypes, troubleshooting complex hardware systems, and collaborating across mechanical, electrical, optical, and software disciplines. You will play a key role in prototype development, hardware demonstrations, system integration, and performance validation of cutting-edge camera platforms.
Responsibilities:
Build, integrate, test, and troubleshoot camera-based prototype systems.
Support internal product demonstrations by preparing devices, validating functionality, and ensuring system readiness.
Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop and evaluate camera hardware prototypes.
Perform hardware bring-up, calibration, debugging, and system verification activities.
Assist with procurement, assembly, and testing of prototype components and equipment.
Collaborate with data collection and engineering teams to support prototype evaluation and performance analysis.
Plan, coordinate, and track prototype development activities across multiple stakeholders.
Document test results, issues, and recommendations to support engineering decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineer, or Mechanical Engineering
- Familiarity with working with camera sensors streaming RAW data
- Experience with mechanical, optical and electrical prototyping: ability to put together complex systems, perform soldering and basic electrical testing, and evaluate and align optical components.
- Experience Working on AIPreferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience working with cameras used for AI applications; such as AR/VR, Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles, Computer Vision applications, or other relevant fields.
- Expertise with any of the following prototyping skills: CAD design & 3d printing, electrical design, programming embedded devices, assembly of consumer electronics
- Experience working with Android devices (ADB)
