Surgical First Assistant – Surgical Services
Schedule: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PMAssignment Details: Guaranteed Hours: 40.00 Contract Weeks: 13
Requirements:
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor: Required
  • At least two years recent experience in field
Responsibilities: Prepare and position patient for surgery, assisting in visualization of the operating field. Provide hemostasis, harvest surgical grafts, perform closure of incisions, and apply various wound dressings. Work under direct supervision or within defined parameters to facilitate optimal patient care. Verify availability of surgical equipment and supplies according to surgeon's preference. Maintain operating room environment according to surgical procedures. Perform pre-and postoperative activities, including obtaining and reviewing diagnostic studies. Review patient medical chart and associated documentation.
