About the role
To support a growing security risk management initiative, the full-time Security Risk Management Specialist will define standards, analyze practices, and implement new security requirements while working remotely and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance the security of Canonical and the wider open source ecosystem.
Key responsibilitiesDefine Canonical's security risk management standards and playbooks
Analyze and improve Canonical's security risk practices and implement new security requirements
Lead quantified risk assessments and develop templates for self-service risk management actionsRequired qualificationsUndergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about an alternative path
Expertise in threat modeling and risk management frameworks
Experience in Secure Development Lifecycle and Security by Design methodology
Deep technical understanding of security assessments and risk management
Exceptional academic track record and leadership ability
