Position purpose: Deliver reliable, secure, and user-friendly audiovisual experiences across meeting rooms, event spaces, digital signage networks, and enterprise facilities.
Position Summary: The Audio Visual (AV) Engineer is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise audiovisual systems across organizational facilities. This position provides technical expertise for conference rooms, event spaces, digital signage networks, video conferencing systems, sound reinforcement systems, and AV-over-IP infrastructure. The AV Engineer works closely with stakeholders, vendors, IT staff, and facilities teams to ensure reliable, high-quality AV experiences for meetings, events, and daily business operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Design, deploy, configure, and support professional AV systems. Maintain conference room technology, including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, and control systems. Support video conferencing and collaboration platforms such as Cisco Webex, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and related technologies. Configure and maintain digital signal processors, amplifiers, wireless microphone systems, and audio networking solutions. Troubleshoot hardware, software, signal-flow, control, and network-related AV issues. Support AV-over-IP solutions and other networked audiovisual technologies. Program and maintain room control systems and user interfaces. Manage digital signage systems and content deployment. Participate in AV construction, renovation, and technology upgrade projects. Perform preventive maintenance, system testing, and health monitoring. Provide onsite AV support for executive meetings, special events, board meetings, training sessions, and presentations.
Required Qualifications: Associate degree in audiovisual technology, information technology, electronics, engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Three years of experience supporting professional AV systems. Experience with video conferencing and collaboration platforms. Experience troubleshooting audio, video, control, and network-related issues. Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles. Knowledge of professional audio systems, signal flow, and digital signal processing concepts. Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation. Valid driver license and ability to travel between facilities as required.
Preferred Qualifications: AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, or comparable industry certification. Experience with Cisco collaboration devices, Q-SYS platforms, Shure microphone systems, Dante audio networking, AV-over-IP solutions, digital signage platforms, and Microsoft Teams Rooms. Experience supporting enterprise campuses, large event venues, conference centers, theaters, or public-facing facilities. Knowledge of network switches, VLANs, multicast, Quality of Service, and security considerations for networked AV.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Professional audio System operation, signal flow, DSP configuration, wireless coordination, and troubleshooting. Video and collaboration Displays, projection, cameras, conferencing platforms, content sharing, and video distribution. Control and networkingAV control systems, AV-over-IP, TCP/IP fundamentals, VLANs, multicast, and device monitoring. Business applications Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and Power Point presentation support. Professional skills Customer service, project coordination, documentation, communication, and structured problem solving.
Physical Requirements: Frequently lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb ladders and work in ceilings, equipment rooms, and other technical spaces. Ability to stand, walk, kneel, reach, and use hand tools for extended periods. Ability to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
