About the role

We're partnered with a leading, privately held tax credit syndicator that acquires and places transferable tax credits, matching an independently sourced supply of projects with a growing base of corporate and institutional buyers. The firm is one of the largest players in this space with a long track record in impact investment. This Director, Tax Credit Placement position is a newly created seat to own the Northeast territory (Philadelphia-to-Boston). This is a high-autonomy, individual-producer role for someone who wants to build a territory from scratch, backed by an independent sourcing team that brings inventory to you rather than requiring you to originate supply yourself. Live inventory is available from day one, pairing well with your existing relationships with corporate buyers. Several members of this team are earning seven figures in other territories.
What You'll Do: Own and build out tax credit placement across the Northeast corridor with inventory sourced by an independent, internal origination team Sell transferable tax credits to taxable corporate buyers and insurers, tens to hundreds of millions of dollars in capacity per client Build and manage a personal pipeline of corporate tax, treasury, and finance officer relationships Represent the firm at industry conferences and in direct outreach, speaking fluently to current market mechanics (transferability, ITC/PTC, storage credits, partnership flip structures, concentration limits)Operate as a self-directed, individual contributor Who You Are Personally placed or sold tax credits or tax equity to corporate investors within the last 3-years, ideally with an annual volume of $50M+An existing book of corporate tax, treasury, or finance officer relationships at corporates and/or insurers — preferably within the Philadelphia-to-Boston corridor and/or proven ability to build a book in other regions Fluency across ITC/PTC, storage tax credits, transferability, partnership flip, basis and recapture Comfort working solo, self-motivated and entrepreneurial; prior experience running a territory without a local team is a strong plus Preference for candidates located in or within driving distance to the New York Metro Area for in-person client meetings Renewable/storage project finance, corporate tax, capital markets, LIHTC/historic tax credit, or Big Four energy tax background
Compensation: $200-225K guaranteed base in year one plus commission; year two carries the same draw, half offset by commission; year three the draw is fully offset by commission.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
