School Psychologist
Compensation Range: $66/hour - $76/hour
Location: Troy, NY; Onsite - School Setting
Position Summary:
A School Psychologist is needed to support a wonderful school community in the Troy, NY area as a dedicated school-based professional. This contract position involves conducting psychological assessments and evaluations, providing leadership and participation in multi-disciplinary evaluation processes, delivering academic, behavioral, emotional, and social interventions, and assisting with Individualized Education Program (IEP) writing and guidance. The School Psychologist would also provide individual and group counseling for students. One of the exciting aspects of this opportunity is the team that already exists including 2 social workers and 1 school counselor. There is an existing atmosphere and team that is ready to collaborate and support the newly added contractor in this role. Responsibilities:
Schedule / Shift:
Shift details: School Day Schedule (7:30am-2:15pm)
Hours per week: 31.25 hours per week
Contract length: October 19, 2026 to June 25, 2027
Key Duties:
Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations
Providing leadership and participation in multi-disciplinary evaluation processes
Delivering academic, behavioral, emotional, and social interventions
Assist with Individualized Education Program (IEP) writing and guidance.
Provide individual and group counseling for students
Requirements
Licenses & Certifications: Must hold a valid New York state certification in School Psychology
Experience: Previous experience in school settings or working with children is preferred.
Skills:
Strong collaborative skills
Effective communication abilities for working with students, educators, and families.
Flexibility and a proactive attitude to adapt to a growing caseload as new students join the program.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs daily
Ability to interact with staff and the public is required.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to work as a team member at all times
Ability to perform all duties with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
