About the role

Postdoctoral Fellow Opportunity The laboratory of Dr. Jianping Li at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC) at Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our team on NIH/NCI-funded projects. Dr. Li's lab focuses on the roles of chromatin regulators and immune interaction in blood cancers, especially in the initiation of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and lymphoma, relapse, chemotherapy resistance, and CNS infiltration. We explore mutant chromatin regulators-driven phenotype and molecular mechanisms using cell lines, conditional mouse models, patient-derived xenografts (PDXs), and cutting-edge technologies such as CUT&RUN, ChIP-Seq, single-cell RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, Hi-C, proteomics, drug screening, flow cytometry and sorting, and CRISPR editing and screening.
Eligibility Requirements: We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral fellows with a recent PhD or PhD/MD in molecular biology, T-cell immunology, cancer biology, or related fields. The candidate should have a strong interest in one of the following basic and translational research areas: chromatin regulation, cancer epigenetics, stem cell biology, immune interactions, CNS infiltration, and the development of targeted therapy. We expect you to join our energetic group, enjoy the joy of research, and receive excellent training and career development to become an independent scientist. Experience in molecular cloning, CRISPR editing and screening, multi-omics sequencing analysis, flow cytometry, and sorting will be preferred. Qualified candidates should send their curriculum vitae and contact information of three professional references to Dr. Jianping Li. Institute: Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC) at Jefferson is recognized as high performing in cancer care by U.S. News & World Report and is designated a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for excellence in cancer care, prevention, and research. The NCI-designated SKCCC at TJU is home to national thought leaders across multiple cancer research disciplines and multi-institutional collaborations, announcing the expansion and deepening of hematologic malignancy research with the Blood Cancer Center of Excellence (BCCE). Our faculty lead paradigm-shifting research into the initiation and progression of cancer, as well as resistance mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. Here, researchers collaborate across multiple departments and specialties to address some of the most complex challenges in healthcare. Workday Day (United States of America) Employee Entity: Thomas Jefferson University Primary Location Address: 951 Locust Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America Jefferson is committed to providing equal educational and employment opportunities for all persons without regard to age, race, color, religion, creed, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, military status, veteran status, handicap or disability or any other protected group or status. Jefferson offers a comprehensive package of benefits for full-time and part-time colleagues, including medical (including prescription), supplemental insurance, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, tuition assistance, as well as voluntary benefits, which provide colleagues with access to group rates on insurance and discounts. Colleagues have access to tuition discounts at Thomas Jefferson University after one year of full time service or two years of part time service. All colleagues, including those who work less than part-time (including per diem colleagues, adjunct faculty, and Jeff Temps), have access to medical (including prescription) insurance.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
