Basic QualificationsEducation Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations. Clearance Requirements: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Responsibilities for this PositionOverview: The Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all contractual agreements between the company and its customers. This role involves leading a team, drafting, negotiating, and executing contracts, as well as ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions. The Contracts Manager also serves as a liaison between the company's legal team, program managers, and customers, and is responsible for identifying and mitigating any contract-related risks. Additionally, this role requires a strong understanding of contract law, regulations, and procedures. The Contracts Manager plays a critical role in protecting the company's interests while ensuring customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:Advises leadership and other functions on contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions.Ensures compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations.Selects, leads, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the effective operation of the function.Assists with the development of flow-down of mandatory or necessary terms and conditions from a business and contract perspective.Delegates assignments to others for developing solutions to a variety of complex and difficult problems.Manages work, sets objectives, and meets commitments for self and others.Reviews and coordinates approvals of contract documents for protection of the company's contractual position, satisfaction of customer specifications and requirements, and adherence to company pol-icy.Acts as a primary point of contact with other departments for resolution of problems regarding contracts.Acts as the primary interface with customers, including fact-finding, audits, and formal contract negotiations.Conducts negotiations, reviews, and management of contracts or subcontracts.Manages the contract change process and works with Program Management, Engineering, Finance, and other disciplines to mitigate performance risk.Supports proposal activities to ensure compliance with solicitation requirements and company policies and procedures. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Detailed knowledge of contracting, including federal procurement laws and regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS).Very strong knowledge of customer communities and business environment.Very strong decision-making ability, negotiation skills, and leadership competencies.Very strong self-motivation and the ability to exercise prudent business judgment in matters of business importance.Practiced adeptness in all areas of contracts administration.Ability to think and plan strategically and be proactive with the contracts or subcontracts needs of the business.Very strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) to support effective communications and business needs.Very strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels.Collaborates and works well cross-functionally throughout the business.Directs oversight of a contracts team of moderate size and complexity.Manages work, sets objectives, and meets commitments, demonstrating strong team player capabilities.Demonstrates significant decision-making ability, negotiation skills, and proven leadership competencies.Demonstrates exemplary skills and functions at a level beyond the requirements of the position.Demonstrates the ability to think and plan strategically and be proactive with the contracts needs of the business.Possesses very strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with person-nel at all levels.Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
