About the role

Medical Transcriptionist Maryview Medical Center The Medical Transcriptionist interprets and transcribes the dictation into patient history, exam notes, operative reports, referral letters, and other documents that may be requested. As the Medical Transcriptionist, it is important to follow patient confidentiality guidelines and legal documentation requirements.
Essential Functions: Perform data entry and data retrievals services, providing data for inclusion in medical records and transmission to physicians Produce medical reports, correspondence, records, patient-care information, statistics, medical research, and administrative material Translate medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded forms to ensure the accuracy of patient records Review and edit transcribed reported or dictated material for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology Perform a variety of clerical tasks, such as submitting insurance claims, typing, filing, and operating office machines Other duties as assigned
Education: High School Degree or GEDAssociates Degree in Medical Transcription preferred, not required
Certifications: Certified Medical Transcriptionist preferred, not required
Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or health care setting preferred, not required Range Minimum: $19.03 Maximum: $28.54
