Role Description:
The Senior Tax Accountant is a full-time, on-site (or remote) role based out of Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for preparing, managing and reviewing complex tax engagements for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and entities within affordable housing, nonprofit, homeowner association, and real estate sectors. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations, and identifying tax planning opportunities. The role involves managing deadlines, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to process improvements and best practices within the firm.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong tax compliance and tax preparation skills, including experience with standard and complex real estate tax returns and multi-state filings.
Candidates should possess a solid understanding of tax concepts and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply tax law to diverse client situations.
CPA license or CPA eligibility strongly preferred; bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Several years of progressive public accounting or tax firm experience at a senior level, ideally with exposure to affordable housing, nonprofit, homeowner associations, or real estate clients.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
Clear and professional communication skills, with a commitment to client service and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
