About the role

Focus Search LLC is recruiting for a Director of Environmental Affairs with a growing distribution & logistics company in headquartered in Seattle. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing environmental regulatory compliance, remediation programs, spill response, due diligence, and risk management across multiple entities. This position leads environmental compliance staff, manages environmental budgets, develops and maintains regulatory plans and permits, oversees environmental audits and remediation projects, and serves as a key liaison with regulatory agencies and contractors. The role also supports acquisitions through environmental due diligence, integrates newly acquired entities into compliance programs, and leads emergency preparedness initiatives, including serving as a Qualified Individual for spill response and helping manage Incident Management Teams.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field 12+ years of environmental compliance, ideally with a background in consulting Strong business operations and strategy perspective Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations Experience with environmental remediation, regulatory permitting, spill response, air and stormwater regulations Registered Environmental Manager (REM) certification is highly desirable
