About the role
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales to lead commercial growth and drive revenue across the food and consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, expanding market presence, strengthening key customer relationships and leading high-performing sales teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food or CPG, with a proven track record of growing revenue, securing new business and expanding distribution across retail, grocery, foodservice and other relevant channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth, increase market share and achieve business objectives. Lead, mentor and develop high-performing sales teams, setting clear targets and driving accountability. Build and strengthen relationships with key national accounts, major retailers, distributors and strategic partners. Identify new business opportunities, expand distribution and drive growth across existing and emerging markets. Lead commercial negotiations, overseeing pricing, customer agreements and contract development. Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations and supply chain teams to support product launches and commercial growth. Oversee sales forecasting, budgets and performance metrics, using data to identify opportunities and improve results. Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to inform sales strategies and maintain a competitive position.
Qualifications & Experience:
10+ years of sales experience within the food, beverage or CPG industry.5+ years in a senior sales leadership role, such as VP of Sales, SVP or Head of Sales. Proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market share. Strong experience managing national retail accounts and relationships with key buyers. Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams. Strong understanding of US retail, grocery, foodservice and distributor networks. Demonstrated success in business development, commercial negotiations and national distribution growth. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or a related field preferred.
