About the role

Custom Sales and Estimating The Custom Sales and Estimating Specialist is responsible for providing accurate project estimates for custom moulding profiles. This role involves collaborating with clients to understand their needs, preparing detailed quotes, pricing projects, and applying value engineering principles to optimize compound moulding designs. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of lumber products, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales and estimating.
Key Responsibilities: Client Engagement and Sales: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including contractors, architects, and builders. Understand client requirements for custom moulding profiles and provide tailored solutions to meet project specifications. Quickly turn around quotes and maintain communication with customers during the process. Learn the technical aspects of products sold to tailor to customer needs Estimating and Quoting: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for custom moulding projects based on client specifications, material requirements, and production capabilities. Source and purchase non-stock materials from vendors. Analyze basic project plans, blueprints, and specifications to develop precise quotes for custom profiles and compound mouldings. Provide clients with timely and competitive pricing, ensuring clarity and transparency in all quotes Value Engineering: Apply value engineering principles to optimize compound moulding designs, balancing cost, functionality, and aesthetic requirements. Recommend alternative materials, profiles, or production methods to enhance project efficiency and reduce costs without compromising quality. Work closely with clients and internal teams to refine designs and ensure project feasibility Order Process: Utilize CRM and estimating software to streamline processes and ensure data accuracy. Data entry, writing orders, providing necessary drawings, and compiling backup (approval, payment, etc.) to ensure order accuracy
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, estimating, or a related role within the lumber, millwork, or construction industry. Experience with custom moulding profiles or millwork estimating is highly desirable
