Welcome to Electric Asset Strategy (EAS). We are responsible for the Distribution electric system’s asset strategy, standards, procedures and end-to-end risk management for 2.3 million structures. We deliver a risk informed strategic plan, leveraging inspection insights and asset data to drive strategic maintenance and investment decisions.
Position Summary:
The Expert Operations Data Analyst supports the development of strategies, work plans, and analysis for the Electric Corrective (EC) Distribution maintenance program. Key activities include the following:
Developing and validating EC Distribution maintenance work plans
Analyzing maintenance work plans for alignment with organizational goals and adherence to regulatory requirements
Building tools for modeling scenarios and displaying data and outcomes
Extracting data for analysis, leadership support and responses to data requests
Monitoring and developing technological improvements to operations tools & databases
Identifying and solving current gaps in data requirements and ease of access to ensure efficient and consistent responses to leadership inquiries.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $126,000
Bay Area Mid-Point: $163,000
Bay Area Maximum: $200,000

CA Minimum: $120,000
CA Mid-Point: $155,000
CA Maximum: $190,000
Job Responsibilities:
Acts as a team lead and provides direction to less experienced employees.
Analyzes data using various advanced statistical tools to develop complex ad hoc reports, statistics, trends and profiles.
Demonstrates and uses broad expertise in data processing and data analysis and applies this knowledge to a number of different issues.
Designs data analyses to achieve business objectives; processes and analyzes data; writes clear, concise findings; and tailors communications to specific audiences. Creates automated routines and processes for reporting and data delivery, ensuring accurate data manipulation and cleansing.
Develops comprehensive reports and communicates clear, concise and actionable data analyses for clients.
Manages complex data analysis projects with limited supervision, from the initial request through presentation of results, ensuring each project is completed on time and within budget.
Manages highly complex data extracts and list pulls, ensuring accuracy. Extracts and transfers data from databases to analysts in support of operational analysis.
Provides new and innovative solutions and recommendations to enhance database(s) with new data sources and improved data processes
Works with Managers and Directors across functions to aid in quantitative-based decision-making
Qualifications:
MinimumBachelor's degree in business, data science, computer science, a STEM field, engineering, or a job-related discipline, or equivalent experience
Six years of job-related experience
Desired Master's degree or equivalent experience
Eight years of job-related experience
Background in asset management
Familiarity with Python, Palantir Foundry, SAP, Power BI, SQL, Microsoft Office, CoPilot
Expertise with statistical methods and concepts
Familiarity with utility operations
Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills
Strong problem- solving skills
Advanced project management skills and the ability to influence cross- functional teams.
