Dental Insurance Billing Specialist (Remote)
Compensation: $18 to $25/hour (with 5+ years of dental practice experience)
Schedule: Remote, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in your local time zone
About the Role: The Dental Practice Mechanics is seeking an experienced Dental Insurance Billing Specialist to join our growing remote team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong dental billing experience and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities: Manage the dental revenue cycle, including insurance payment posting and claim processing. Submit clean claims and resolve claim rejections and denials. Apply insurance payment adjustments and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) procedures. Maintain accounts receivable and work to reduce insurance aging. Utilize payer portals, clearinghouses, and practice management software. Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate patient account documentation. Support a portfolio of 4 to 5 dental practice clients.
Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of dental insurance billing experience, including multi-office account management. Strong knowledge of CDT coding, dental terminology, and revenue cycle management. Experience with insurance payer websites, EFT retrieval, claims submission, and payment posting. Familiarity with clearinghouses; Vyne experience preferred. Proficiency in Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Dentrix, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams. Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
Success Metrics: Maintain 98%+ posting accuracy. Achieve a 90%+ audit score.
