About the role

Macklowe Gallery, the world’s premier dealer of 20th-century decorative arts and estate fine jewelry, is seeking an experienced client advisor in our New York gallery to deliver a seamless, personalized experience for our discerning collectors: Fostering long-term client relationships, achieving sales targets, and upholding the gallery’s reputation for excellence. They will develop a comprehensive working knowledge of and passion for our collection, with a special emphasis on jewelry from the mid-19th century to the present. This role reports directly to the gallery’s Jewelry Director and requires in-person presence Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities: Achieve quarterly sales targets with support from Jewelry Director Develop new client relationships via proactive outreach, walk-in traffic, antiques shows, and digital leads; generate new client leads via appropriate networking opportunities and events Leverage CRM tools to drive repeat business and increase client loyalty Maintain comprehensive knowledge of our current collection, and keep abreast of pertinent market trends in jewelry and decorative arts Support jewelry team with inventory process: Stone counts, maker’s marks, signatures Support day-to-day department operations, including organizing the collection, visual merchandising, writing invoices and thank-you notes Maintain inventory on 1st Dibs and dealer site / dealer chats Maintain a database of important auction and show dates; manage requests for condition reports Qualifications:3-5 years’ relevant work experience in a gallery, high end auction house, or fine jewelry store Exceptional at building and maintaining relationships Passion for and knowledge of jewelry and decorative arts, with a focus on the late-19th and early-20th centuries Superior written and oral communication skills Highly organized with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize Highly digitally proficient, including in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; Proficiency in Shopify a plus Graduate Gemology degree a plus
