We support upstream and midstream oil & gas projects across the U.S., and we’re looking for a Project Engineer to join our Baton Rouge office. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer (10–12 years) to take on meaningful, hands-on work, collaborate with industry veterans, and play a key role in delivering projects from design through execution.
What You’ll Do:
Lead the design, procurement, and execution of complex infrastructure projects, including production facilities, terminals, SWDs, and pipelines. Work closely with Project Managers and other disciplines to carry projects from concept through commissioning. Develop and review P&IDs and drawing packages, including 3D models, orthos, and isometrics, for technical accuracy and constructability. Participate in and provide technical input during HAZOPs, PSSRs, field walkdowns, commissioning, and startup activities. Perform equipment sizing and selection, develop specifications, support procurement, and provide technical review of vendor packages. Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning, including resolving field issues and reviewing design changes. Perform quality-control reviews and help ensure that engineering deliverables meet project, client, and applicable code requirements. Apply tools such as Pro Max, Autodesk, and internal systems to support project design and execution. Strong working knowledge of applicable ASME, ANSI, and API codes and standards. Experience reviewing and working with AutoCAD drawings and design packages. Strong technical judgment with the ability to balance engineering requirements with practical, buildable solutions. Develop practical solutions when projects present new or unusual technical challenges. Travel occasionally to job sites, vendor locations, and client facilities (10–15%).
What We’re Looking For:
10–12 years of progressive engineering experience, preferably in EPC and/or oil & gas. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, project teams, vendors, and field personnel. Confident working independently, making decisions, and taking ownership of your work. Willing to jump in where needed, stay organized, and bring a little personality to the team. Practical, solutions-focused, and comfortable working through challenges without needing a roadmap for everything. Willing to travel as needed (10–15%) and able to pass a drug screen.
