About the role
Principal Construction ManagerBKF is hiring a Principal Construction Manager to provide leadership, strategic planning, staff development and business development for the construction management group within the greater San Francisco Bay Area. They must provide full program leadership the Construction Management Department, Water Resources Division. Lead efforts to develop, sustain and grow business in the transportation market sectors, and ensure revenue growth and profitability of same.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides program level leadership of the Water Resources division of Construction Management Department within the greater Bay AreaExecutes and is responsible for business development efforts and strategies to achieve market sector financial performance metricsServes as Project Manager on projects as appropriateUtilizes highly effective communication skills with internal and client staff at multiple levels, including elected officials to ensure a high degree of quality, timeliness, and profitabilityDemonstrates effective leadership in resolving obstacles for delivery of complex projectsSupervises and directs CM project staff and teams in the Water Resources divisionManages projects with efficient delivery and high-quality standardsLeads planning and scheduling efforts relating to multiple project integrationGuides development of CM subprogramsAssists with significant program positioning and proposal effortsInterfaces with Headquarters and Business Development staff to identify and track and pursue business opportunitiesAttends industry events and conferences for client networking purposesVisits clients to position for upcoming workStrengthens business development activities, including preparation of proposals, interviews, and project contracting/setup processesEngages and promotes staff to execute strategic staffing activities and recruitment effortsMonitors and take responsibility for profitabilityOther related duties and assigned or requiredDesired Construction Management Experience: We are seeking candidates with experience in some of the following areas. While not every item is required, experience in a combination of these areas will be highly valued:Large diameter sewer and water pipeline, including trenchless installationsWater and wastewater treatment plants, including membrane filtration technologySewer lift stationsBooster pump stationsGroundwater wellsStormwater diversion, capture, and treatmentFlood control infrastructureSCADA installation, integration, and startup commissioning
