About the role
Project Manager – Public Sector ConstructionA growing General Contractor expanding across Virginia is seeking a Project Manager to join its team and play a key role in the growth of its public-sector construction operation.
The Role:
You’ll manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with owners, subcontractors, field teams, and internal stakeholders. Projects include schools, county facilities, municipal buildings, and Department of Public Works projects, typically ranging from $5M–$12M, with opportunities to take on larger projects as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage projects from preconstruction through completion Oversee schedule, budget, cost control, quality, and documentation Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and subcontractors Lead project meetings and owner communications Coordinate field teams, vendors, consultants, and project partners Support estimating and preconstruction when required What We're Looking For 2–3+ years of construction Project Management experience Commercial / General Contracting background Experience managing projects through completion Public-sector, municipal, government, or K-12 experience preferred Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills Construction Management / Engineering degree preferred, not essential Why Join? Location:
