About the role
Equipment Technician The Equipment Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the preparation and maintenance of medical equipment is performed in accordance with aseptic techniques and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Apply principles of aseptic techniques to equipment preparation and maintenance, identifying any potential compromises to sterile integrity during procedures.
Disassemble equipment, identify defective or malfunctioning parts, and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
Conduct pre-cleaning requirements for all endoscopic equipment, including inspection, leak testing, cleaning, and high-level disinfection.
Follow established protocols for reprocessing endoscopes and accessories, ensuring proper storage of all equipment.
Determine methods of High-Level Disinfection based on material and manufacturer's instructions, ensuring all equipment is calibrated according to protocol.
Perform ambulatory technician duties as assigned, such as documenting vital signs and assisting in patient transport.
Job Requirements:
Experience in at least one travel assignment is required. No specific licensure or certification is required, but a High-Level Disinfection certification is highly encouraged.
Schedule: Monday to Friday - Day shifts with night call responsibilities.
