About the role
- Scaling the Eyewear business by adding to, refining, and improving the assortment across frames and prescription lens offerings
- Owning the prescription lens strategy — lens types (single vision, progressive, blue-light, readers), coatings, materials, and index options — and identifying the right expansion opportunities to set the business up for long-term growth
- Working closely with product development, sourcing, and technical design to develop and improve frames and lens quality, and to ensure a seamless Rx fulfillment experience for the customer
- Partnering with vendors and optical labs to deliver on quality, price, and prescription accuracy
- Partnering with planning, site merchandising, and marketing to grow the business
- Obsessing about every aspect of our products (fit, quality, lens performance, price) to deliver for the customer
- Helping drive the business forward to meet sales targets, customer ratings/return rates, and improved margins
- Role is based in San Francisco, California, with a 3 days per week in-office requirement5–10 years of retail merchandising experience, ideally within Eyewear, optical, or prescription lens categories; luxury expertise preferred
- Working knowledge of prescription lens technology, optical fulfillment, and frame construction strongly preferredE-commerce and/or DTC experience preferred
- Proven track record of progressing within an organization and demonstrating continuous growth in roles and responsibilities
- Product obsessed, with experience leveraging data tools and external sources
- Critical eye to anticipate customer needs (both the "science" and "art" of retail merchandising)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical, with focus on execution, problem-solving, improving processes, and brand enhancement
- Continuous learner and highly curious; open to new perspectives; proactive when changing course and facing added challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Motivated by a fast-paced, collaborative environment where flexibility to stretch into or out of functional comfort zones is crucial for team success
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred
