About the role

About the Role: Our client is seeking a Tax Manager to join their growing tax team. This position will support a variety of tax compliance and advisory engagements while working closely with senior tax professionals and clients.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and other entities
  • Assist with quarterly and annual tax compliance engagements
  • Prepare and review tax workpapers, supporting schedules, and tax adjustments
  • Research federal and state tax issues and communicate findings to senior team members
  • Assist with tax planning and identifying potential tax-saving opportunities
  • Work with clients to gather financial information and resolve tax-related questions
  • Reconcile financial and tax records and investigate discrepancies
  • Assist with IRS and state tax notices, inquiries, and audits
  • Support tax provision and estimated tax calculations as needed
  • Maintain organized engagement files and ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule
  • Collaborate with Managers and Senior Associates on multiple client engagements
  • Stay current on changes to federal and state tax laws and regulations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field1–3 years of public accounting or tax experience preferred
  • Experience with federal and state tax compliance
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other accounting/tax software
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritiesCPA or CPA eligibility is a plus
  • Preferred Experience
  • Partnership and corporate tax experience
  • High-net-worth individual taxation
  • Real estate or private equity tax experience
  • Experience with multi-state tax returns
  • Exposure to tax research and planning
  • Experience with CCH Axcess, GoSystem, OneSource, or similar tax software
