4825 Hybrid - Downtown, PittsburghPOSITION OVERVIEWOur client is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its corporate tax team. This individual will support both income tax compliance and tax accounting activities, with exposure to federal, state, local, and international tax matters. The role offers the opportunity to work across tax provision, compliance, research, and process improvement while partnering with other members of the finance and accounting organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in corporate income tax and an interest in continuing to develop their technical tax accounting experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740.Calculate current and deferred income tax expense across federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions. Prepare effective tax rate calculations, rate reconciliations, and related supporting schedules. Analyze and document book-to-tax differences and information required for tax return reporting. Support deferred tax asset and valuation allowance analyses. Calculate and document uncertain tax positions in accordance with applicable accounting guidance. Prepare tax account reconciliations and supporting documentation. Assist with preparation of the consolidated federal income tax return and prepare/file state income tax returns. Research federal and state tax matters and evaluate the tax impact of legislative changes and business initiatives. Assist with documentation supporting tax positions and compliance requirements. Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies within the income tax function. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLSBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required. CPA, Master’s in Taxation, JD, or similar advanced credential is a plus.3–5 years of federal and state income tax compliance experience. Exposure to ASC 740 and income tax provision calculations preferred. Strong understanding of income tax accounting and U.S. GAAP.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. Ability to work effectively in a remote environment. Experience with tax research platforms preferred. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with corporate tax compliance/provision software preferred.
