About the role
Job Title: Accounting Advisory Senior Consultant
Location: Miami, Florida
Henderson Drake is partnering with a fast-growing advisory firm to find a Senior Consultant who brings genuine technical accounting depth and the confidence to operate at the front of complex, high-stakes engagements.
The client base spans pre-IPO businesses, publicly listed companies, and private equity-backed organisations, each presenting its own set of transaction pressures and accounting challenges. M&A, carve-outs, and IPO readiness form the backbone of the firm's work, and the people delivering it need to be as comfortable with ambiguity as they are with the technical detail.
The firm was founded by former Big Four professionals with a deliberate intention to keep things focused, technically rigorous, and free from unnecessary hierarchy. For a Senior Consultant who wants genuine proximity to the decisions that matter and real ownership over how engagements are run, this is where that opportunity exists.
What you will be doing
Lead engagements spanning M&A, divestitures, IPO readiness, interim management, and technical accounting matters
Review financial statements and SEC filings, surfacing issues early rather than reacting to them
Build financial models, forecasts, and supporting analyses that drive decision-making at the highest level
Collaborate with client finance teams on business process improvement initiatives
Act as the key point of contact between client senior management and their auditors
Guide and develop engagement teams, ensuring consistent quality throughout delivery
Strengthen and expand client relationships, identifying opportunities to add value beyond the immediate brief
Build deep subject matter expertise in areas such as business combinations, revenue recognition, or stock-based compensation
Contribute to firm-building initiatives including recruiting and strategic growth activity
What you will bring
4+ years in public accounting, audit, or accounting advisory
CPA or MBA, with a degree in accounting
Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Experience managing several engagements simultaneously without losing quality or pace
The ability to communicate with clarity and authority to boards, auditors, and senior finance leaders
An entrepreneurial outlook and willingness to contribute beyond the scope of individual mandates
Flexibility to travel as client needs dictate
Why this opportunity
Close, direct access to senior management on the transactions that shape their businesses
Room to develop a recognised technical specialism within a practice that continues to grow
Sustained client relationships rather than transactional, project-by-project exposure
A firm where individual contribution genuinely influences its direction
An advisory culture that has resisted the bureaucracy that typically comes with firms of this quality

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
