About the role

NYC-based apparel company seeks an Outerwear & Swimwear Designer with a passion for design and a strong sense of color and aesthetics for outerwear and swimwear.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Design silhouettes, graphics, trims, and prints applicable to each season. Create tech packs, including flat sketches with detailed construction notes, fabric and trim information, Pantone colors, and artwork dimensions. Recolor prints from print houses. Create trim artwork with detailed instructions for overseas manufacturers. Create CADs and trend boards for sales presentations. Manage fabric and color libraries. Prepare color boards and color cards. Shop for, purchase, and return samples. Log and photograph all store-bought samples.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be highly proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel. Must have a thorough understanding of garment construction Strong knowledge of fabrics and trims, primarily functional woven and swim fabrics. Ability to create original artwork. Passionate about design and willing to take on any task required. Ability to follow direction from the Senior Designer. Must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be a strong team player. Minimum of 2–3 years of experience creating tech packs. Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in an outerwear design role.
Salary: $50K–$60K BOEThis is NOT a remote position.
