As we expand our U.S. operations, we are opening a new service center in Englewood, New Jersey. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented technician to join our team. This is a hands-on technical role focused on the repair, calibration, and maintenance of fiber optic fusion splicers, with additional responsibility for the shipping, receiving, and inventory operations of our service center. Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Service & Repair (Core Focus)
  • Diagnose, repair, and service fusion splicers as the primary focus, along with OTDRs and related fiber optic test equipment
  • Conduct calibration and optical alignment procedures per factory specifications
  • Process RMA units — inspect, log, repair, test, and return within committed turnaround times
  • Support quality control inspections on refurbished or outgoing units
  • Provide occasional on-site or remote technical support to customers and distributors
  • Logistics & Warehouse Operations
  • Handle shipping and receiving of RMA units and sales orders, including packaging, labeling, and carrier coordination
  • Manage service parts inventory — stock levels, replenishment, and physical counts
  • Maintain accurate service records and repair logs using internal ERP/ticketing systems
  • Communicate repair status and technical recommendations to customers and internal teams
  • Support general office and warehouse operations as needed in a small team environment
Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience repairing or servicing fusion splicers or precision electronic equipment (required)
  • Daily technical communication with engineering teams at our Korea headquarters
  • Review Korean-language technical documentation and firmware release notes
  • Familiarity with optical fiber theory, fiber splicing, or fiber network infrastructure
  • Proficiency with cabling and use of hand tools
  • Good understanding of electricity and related technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a customer service orientation
  • Basic computer proficiency (Experience with ERP or QuickBooks is a plus)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is highly preferred Associate degree with 3+ years of hands-on experience in electronics repair will also be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with OTDRs and related fiber optic test equipment
  • Familiarity with ERP or ticketing systems
  • Technical certifications in telecommunications or related fields
  • Prior experience communicating repair updates directly to end users or distributors
  • Korean/English bilingual proficiency is a plus (for technical communication with our global headquarters)
