AVP, Specialty Casualty Underwriting Lead a High-Performing Casualty Team While Driving Regional Growth Our client is seeking an accomplished underwriting leader to oversee a successful Specialty Casualty operation focused oncontractors, hospitality, real estate, and habitational business. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned E&S casualty professional to lead an established underwriting team while driving regional growth and maintaining key wholesale broker relationships. In this leadership role you will have P&L responsibility for $80M in premium. The team writes both Primary Casualty business and Supported Excess placements up to $5M excess limits, with a strong emphasis on profitable growth, broker engagement, and underwriting discipline.
The Opportunity: This role combines technical underwriting expertise, people leadership, and business development. The AVP will oversee a team of approximately 12 underwriters and underwriting assistants. While maintaining a small personal book of business, the primary focus of this role is leading the underwriting team, developing regional marketing strategies, strengthening wholesale broker partnerships, and driving underwriting profitability.
