About the role
Job Description:
Spur Industrial is seeking a dependable Material Handler to support our structural steel fabrication shop and yard operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, organize, and stage steel and other materials
- Load fabricated steel and materials for delivery to jobsites
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment
- Verify material quantities, identification, and condition
- Keep material storage areas organized and accessible
- Assist Production and Shipping/Receiving with material movement
- Report damaged, missing, or incorrectly identified material
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded
- Forklift experience preferred
- Experience in steel fabrication, construction, manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping/receiving is a plus
- Able to read basic measurements, material tags, and shipping paperwork
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors around heavy equipment
- Able to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday
- Strong work ethic and team-first attitude
