About the role
To support the National Marine Fisheries Service, the full-time ESA Section 7 Consultation Specialist will assist Federal staff with analyses, writing consultation documents, and collecting scientific data related to ESA section 7 consultations, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
Assist Federal staff with analyses and research for ESA section 7 consultations on Federal activities affecting ESA-listed species
Write ESA section 7 consultation documents, including letters of concurrence and biological opinions
Collect and analyze scientific data to support the consultation process and respond to information requests from Federal agencies
Required qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field and 3 years of relevant experience, with education beyond the Bachelor's degree substituting for experience
Documented experience in environmental regulations, biological sciences, ecological risk assessment, or environmental impact analysis
Strong technical writing skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team setting
Capacity to receive and implement constructive feedback
