US People Advisor / HR Generalist
Location: Phoenix, AZ | Hybrid, 2–3 days/week in office
The Opportunity:
A growing, PE-backed global consumer products company is seeking a US People Advisor / HR Generalist to serve as the primary HR resource for its US organization. This is a broad, hands-on generalist role for someone who enjoys variety and wants the autonomy to make an impact. You’ll support employees and managers across multiple states while partnering closely with an established international People team. The ideal candidate is approachable, warm and collaborative, but also confident operating independently, making decisions and providing practical guidance to managers.
What You’ll Do:
Serve as a trusted HR partner to US employees and people managers.
Advise managers on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation and day-to-day people matters.
Support investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters, attendance, leave and performance issues.
Coach managers through performance reviews and employee-related decisions.
Manage key employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, employee changes and exits.
Maintain and help evolve US HR policies, processes and documentation.
Support multi-state employment compliance and escalate specialist legal questions when appropriate.
Partner with payroll and benefits providers and maintain accurate employee data within the HRIS.Participate in annual and biannual People initiatives including compensation benchmarking, engagement surveys and performance reviews.
Analyze employee feedback and HR data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Contribute to broader strategic People projects and process improvements.
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of HR experience in an HR Generalist, People Advisor, Senior HR Generalist or similar role.
Strong knowledge of US employment practices and legislation.
Hands-on employee relations experience, including investigations, performance and manager coaching.
Experience supporting employees across multiple states preferred.
Comfortable working as a standalone US HR resource while collaborating with an international team.
Self-starter who can use good judgment, take initiative and make sound recommendations independently.
Warm, approachable and able to build trust at all levels of an organization.
Organized, pragmatic and comfortable balancing employee experience with business needs.
Experience in a fast-paced, growing or PE-backed organization is a plus.
HRIS experience required.
Consumer products/CPG experience is not required.
