About the role

CONTROLLEROur client, a Rockland County family office, is seeking a sharp CPA.This is a 5 days in office role. Candidates with investment audit experience directly from public accounting are welcome.
Key Responsibilities: Accounting Operations & Reporting: Oversee full-cycle accounting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Prepare comprehensive financial statements (balance sheets, income statements) for individuals, trusts, LLCs, and foundations. Cash Management & Treasury: Monitor liquidity, manage bank relationships, oversee cash flow forecasting, and execute wire transfers and capital calls. Tax & Audit Coordination: Liaise with external tax advisors to provide K-1 support, manage estimated tax payments, and coordinate annual audits. Investment Accounting: Track investment performance, including private equity co-investments, real estate, and public equities, ensuring accurate recording of capital contributions and distributions. Internal Controls & Compliance: Implement and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity. Technology & Infrastructure: Maintain and optimize accounting systems (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, or specialized family office software).
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is REQUIRED.
Experience: 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with specific experience in family offices, private equity, or HNW wealth management.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, Genesis).Required Soft Skills &
Competencies: Ironclad Discretion: Must handle highly sensitive financial and personal information with confidentiality. Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in complex structures.
