About the role
To support a growing music education initiative, the Freelance Music Notation Specialist will work remotely on a contract basis, focusing on music transcription and instructional diagram design for guitar, bass, piano, and drums.
Key responsibilities:
Transcribe performances and exercises into accurate TAB, standard notation, chord charts, or drum notation
Create clear visual aids that help learners understand musical concepts
Collaborate with the internal team to ensure notation and diagrams align with lesson concepts
Required qualifications:
College-level music education or equivalent training and professional experience
Strong knowledge of at least one core instrument: guitar, bass, piano, or drums
Proficiency with notation software and experience transcribing music by ear
Ability to create student-friendly visuals and a strong eye for visual clarity
Understanding of music theory and notation, with a focus on clarity and accuracy
