About the role
Our client is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team in Phoenix/Laveen, AZ.This is a full-time, direct hire role that is 100% onsite. Candidates must have precast/pre-stressed concrete experience. This position will be managing engineering, drafting, project managers, and Quality Control.
Core Responsibilities:
Overall management of engineering and drafting staff including project management. Planning and organizing department to meet project schedules and deadlines. Oversee the Quality Control Department and Quality Control Supervisors. Monitor and maintain job budgets and overall departmental budget. Maintains and implements drafting and design standards based on current codes as well as best practices Negotiates and executes contracts with outside drafting and design consultants for which work is not performed in-house. Provides design assistance to sales when needed and provides estimating costs for Drafting and Design scope on upcoming projects. Responsible for ensuring new engineers and/or existing staff get training needed. Works closely with other departments such as production and erection to ensure design and detailing of product is most efficient
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Civil EngineeringPE License is required 8+ years of precast prestressed concrete design experience 5+ years of related management experience in the precast industry Must be well versed in building codes such as IBC, and reference standards such as ACI, ASCE, and PCIMust be well versed in many engineering software programs, as well as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), etc.
