About the role

Cross Chartering is a global leader in yacht transportation— from sport boats to superyachts — between ports worldwide. Our primary US hub is in Fort Lauderdal and the operational headquarters are based in Antwerp. We're known for our unmatched performance on our main trade routes spanning Asia, US, Caribs and the Mediterranean.
The Role: We’re looking for an experienced Sales Executive to develop and manage business across our main trade lanes, including US westbound and eastbound and the US to and from the Mediterranean and Caribbean. This is a commercial role for someone who enjoys owning the whole cycle — finding the opportunity, quoting it, structuring the deal, closing it, and then keeping the relationship warm so the next booking comes back to you. You’ll be building your own network of owners, captains, brokers, yards and management companies, and you’ll be measured on the business you bring in. You’ll work closely with our US commercial team, who supports with pricing and deal structuring. Decisions are made quickly and there are short lines between you and an answer.
What You’ll Do: Identify and approach new business — owners, captains, brokers, shipyards, refit facilities, management companies and agents — through direct outreach, referrals and industry events Run your own prospecting: calls, emails, visits and follow-up. The top of your funnel is yours to build Handle incoming quote requests and turn them around within the hour, which is a core sales standard at Cross Chartering Prepare and present quotations, working with our commercial team on pricing strategy for each opportunity Structure deals end to end — scope, requirements, insurance, terms and conditions — and negotiate to close Maintain and grow long-term relationships across the yachting network so that clients return voyage after voyage, season after season Represent Cross Chartering at boat shows and industry events in the US and, where relevant to your book, in Europe Work with our operations team on technical and insurance questions so that you can stay focused on the commercial side Feed back what you see in the market — rate levels, competitor activity, demand by lane
What You Bring: A track record of winning new business yourself, not managing accounts handed to you Ability to collaborate effectively with chartering, operations, and management teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Comfort with direct outreach, including cold calling, and the persistence to keep at it Strong commercial judgement — you know when to hold a rate and when to move The ability to build trust quickly with owners, captains and brokers, and to keep those relationships over years Energy and pace. This is a fast, responsive environment and speed is part of how we win Self-direction: hybrid means we trust you to run your own week A willingness to learn our trade quickly. Yacht transport has its own commercial logic, and the best candidates from adjacent sectors are the ones who absorb it fast
Requirements: Solid experience selling in the maritime industry — yacht transport, RoRo, breakbulk, project cargo, chartering, forwarding, or marine services Demonstrable history of building and holding a book of business Authorized to work in the United States
Nice to Have: An existing network in yacht transport or the wider yachting industry Experience across transatlantic and Mediterranean/Caribbean trade lanes Cross Chartering is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
