Job Details: Job Location: Northbrook - NORTHBROOK, IL, Position Type: Regular Full-Time, Salary Range: $175000.00 - $215000.00 Salary, Job Category: SVP, This position reports toChief Commercial Banking Officer Basic FunctionsResponsible for underwriting and managing complex Commercial – Middle Market, Large Corporate and Franchise loan transactions. Oversee portfolio management of existing borrower relationships and lead portfolio credit administration and support the growth in commercial loans. Serve as a subject matter expert in credit skills, credit products or industries. Manage a team of credit underwriting professionals.
Essential Duties: Manage a team of Portfolio Managers (PMs), with varying experience levels, in due diligence, underwriting, loan approval and documentation of new loan transactions, renewals, amendments and oversees ongoing portfolio and client monitoring. Supervise the financial analysis and approval requests consistent with Bank credit policy Oversee and provides guidance in credit strategy, negotiation of terms and conditions for all new loan transactions and loan renewals including the review of related loan documentation. Oversee daily PM responsibilities including ODs, past due loans and coming due loans and amendments are managed timely. Supervise all required quarterly and annual reviews, and all outstanding loan ticklers Assist in managing Franchise loan policy, and all required credit monitoring procedures Supervise PM’s administration for construction loans and remodel loans for Franchise fundings and related new loan closings Oversee the management of existing loan portfolio administration and provide Senior Management and Board reporting Responsible for managing ongoing requirements for all internal and external audits including compliance with credit policies and procedures, risk rating reviews, covenant monitoring requirements and annual / quarterly reviews. Drive process improvements to increase workflow efficiency Train and develop new or less experienced PMs and loan administrators Nonessential DutiesOther duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements Demonstrate professionalism, tact and diplomacy when interacting with clients and business partners Enjoy working with a diverse range of businesses and industries Excellent verbal and written communication skills Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines Strong knowledge of lending practices, credit analysis and applicable banking regulations
Qualifications: Training & ExperienceCollege degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent related experience 10+ years’ experience in banking industry 5+ years’ experience in commercial lending area Credit Analysis training Microsoft proficiency CPA or MBA preferred
CompensationExpected Salary Range: $175,000 - $215,000 Salary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
