About the role

Order Entry ClerkThe Order Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing all incoming customer orders for the company. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to manage a high-volume workload, and strong multitasking skills. The Order Entry Clerk utilizes the P21 system to manually enter orders, responds promptly to customer inquiries via email, and is cross trained to provide phone coverage for the Customer Service department as needed. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Answering customer calls, assisting, and/or directing them Participate in the sales process as well as the administrative requirements of answering calls, entering orders, providing pricing, order tracking and complaint resolution All incoming orders received via sales fax, email, mail, EDI, SPS, or any other electronic form of communication should be entered daily upon receipt Follow-up calls and voicemails should be returned by end of business the day of receipt Communicate customer product requirements to Purchasing in a timely manner to minimize backorders. Communicate with customers and internal departments to resolve order discrepancies or missing information Prioritize and multitask between order entry, email correspondence, and phone support Maintain organized and up-to-date order records Other duties as assigned
Requirements: Education and/or experience & other skills and abilities:
  • Experience in a safety products environment preferred
  • Heavy customer service/data entry skills
  • Excellent phone call skills/etiquette with ability to answer incoming customer service calls when covering for other teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be PC literate (MS Office) and have strong data entry, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with P21 is a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work daily
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
