About the role
Research Senior Technician-Medical Oncology Dr. Ebrahimi-Nik's Laboratory, situated within the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) and the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO), is devoted to unraveling the complex interactions between immune cells and tumor cells, with a particular focus on elucidating the functional dynamics of CD8 T cells that demonstrate tumor-rejecting capabilities. We are dedicated to comprehending the multifaceted factors that contribute to the persistence and efficacy of tumor rejecting CD8 T cells within the suppressive environment of the tumor. Using a range of cutting-edge techniques including but not limited to single cell RNA sequencing paired with TCR, CRISPR, western blot on rare cells, and other functional experiments we are trying to improve our understanding of tumor immunology. We're looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Research Senior Technician at OSUCCC and PIIO. Your role will be pivotal in several significant research projects in cancer immunology and immunotherapy. You'll collaborate closely with a postdoctoral fellow, so strong organizational and communication skills are crucial. Adaptability to new technologies and a fast-paced work environment is a must. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to major research papers and participate in national and international conferences, making this role ideal for recent BS graduates aspiring to establish a career in Biotechnology, Medicine, or Science. Minimum Required Qualifications A bachelor's degree in biological sciences or relevant field is required. Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic and/or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required. Experience in a biological/health science research capacity is preferred. The university requires completion of a background check and qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen. The OSUCCC – James is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nation's largest public universities. The Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) is a comprehensive bench-to-bedside research initiative focused on harnessing the body's immune system to fight cancer at all levels —from prevention to treatment and survivorship. The Laboratory of Dr. Nik is a part of the OSUCCC-James, PIIO. Dr. Nik aims to uncover actionable targets and develop therapeutic strategies that can reprogram CD8+ T cells to mount stronger and more durable anti-tumor responses.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
