SENIORITY
Lead
SALARY
$100,000 - $130,000 per year
About the role
- Build and ship features across the stack, from React interfaces to back-end services, with code review and support from senior engineers.
- Help build and maintain the APIs that connect lenders, banks, and partners to the platform.
- Work with lending and deal data: clean it, structure it, and help turn it into something users can act on.
- Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude, GPT, Perplexity, and similar) to build faster, and learn to check their output carefully.
- Learn to build securely on AWS, including authentication and access controls for financial data.
- Join product conversations with the founders and engineering lead. Ask questions, share ideas, and learn how decisions get made.
- Write clear, tested code, and give and receive code review.
- What you bring
- A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent skills from a bootcamp, internships, or self-taught building. 0–2 years of experience. Internships, co-ops, freelance work, and serious personal or open-source projects all count.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript, and some experience with React or another modern front-end framework.
- Familiarity with back-end basics: building or calling APIs, working with a relational database, and writing SQL.
- At least one project you built end to end and can walk us through, including what broke and how you fixed it.
- Experience using AI coding tools, plus curiosity about where they help and where they fall short.
- A genuine appetite for feedback. You want your code reviewed and you get better from it.
- Clear communication, including explaining technical work to non-engineers.
- Internship or project experience in fintech, banking, or data-heavy products.
- Exposure to AWS or another cloud platform, even through coursework or personal projects.
- A project that uses an LLM API or adds an AI feature to an app.
- Hackathons, open-source contributions, or time at an early-stage startup.
- Why this role
- Real work from day one.
- You'll ship features users depend on, not sit in a training rotation.
- Learn from the builders.
- You'll work directly with a technical co-founder and engineering lead who are hands-on in the code and the product.
- Honest stage.
- The platform is live and growing, with plenty still to build. You'll see how a fintech product gets made from the inside.
- Modern tooling.
- AI-assisted development is part of how we work, so you'll build those habits early.
- Room to grow.
- As the team grows, your scope grows with it.
- Compensation and Location
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
