About the role
PRINCIPAL / ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESProvide overall leadership and direction for the business, including strategic planning, operational execution, staffing, resource allocation, and decision-making. Maintain full accountability for revenue, costs, profitability, and overall P&L performance. Develop and execute annual operating plans designed to achieve or exceed financial and operational objectives. Establish business strategies, financial assumptions, performance targets, and action plans to support profitable growth. Monitor business performance and adjust strategies based on changing financial, operational, customer, and market conditions. Develop pricing strategies that support profitability while remaining competitive within the marketplace. Analyze key cost drivers, including raw materials, commodities, transportation, packaging, energy, and other operating expenses, to support pricing and margin decisions. Evaluate customer requirements, competitive activity, market conditions, and business opportunities to identify opportunities for revenue and profit improvement. Work closely with manufacturing leadership to align production capabilities, capacity, quality, safety, service, and cost objectives with overall business requirements. Partner with sales and marketing leadership on customer strategy, product commercialization, new product introductions, and improvements to existing products. Collaborate with distribution leadership to improve service levels, logistics performance, network utilization, and overall distribution effectiveness. Lead cross-functional initiatives involving growth, continuous improvement, cost reduction, operational performance, and other strategic business priorities. Establish clear objectives, accountability, timelines, and resources for major projects and ensure successful implementation. Promote consistent use of standardized processes, systems, tools, and performance measures throughout the organization. Identify and manage business risks associated with contracts, customers, facilities, new business opportunities, and other significant decisions. Exercise sound business judgment when evaluating contractual and commercial commitments, involving senior leadership and appropriate legal resources when necessary. Communicate business strategy, priorities, performance expectations, and organizational objectives throughout the organization. Build a high-performing leadership team through effective selection, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and professional development. Identify and develop key talent while supporting succession planning and long-term organizational capability. Establish a positive, accountable leadership culture focused on employee engagement, teamwork, continuous improvement, and business results. Motivate and develop employees while maintaining high standards for performance, professionalism, safety, quality, and compliance. Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, business partners, and other external organizations. Ensure business activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, and established standards. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
