Exciting OpportunityMemorial Sloan Kettering is seeking exceptional Clinical Nurse candidates to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). We're looking for a dynamic nursing professional eager to showcase compassionate, evidence-based nursing care skills and make a meaningful impact in our Critical Care Service here at MSK's Main Campus. Intensive Care Unit (ICU)MSK’s 20-bed Intensive Care Unit is the only ICU within the institution, offering high-acuity care for critically ill oncology patients. The unit manages a patient population that is approximately 40% surgical and 60% medical. Nurses care for some of the most complex and critically ill patients across the cancer continuum. A robust 16-week orientation is provided, and a two-year commitment is requested. Nurses work 12-hour night shifts, averaging 13 shifts per month. The ICU fosters a culture of autonomy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continued professional growth.
Role Overview: Assess, monitor, and document patients’ conditions, including vital signs, symptoms, and clinical status, in inpatient settings Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and institutional policies Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care Provide patient and family education, support, and care coordination Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record
Key Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN required) Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience Active New York State RN license Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems Core SkillsAbility to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented inpatient environment Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills Effective communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities Proven ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple patient care responsibilities Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and evidence-based practice Patient-centered approach with a focus on safety, quality, and service excellence Additional InformationLocation: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065
