About the role
Position Overview:
The Safety Manager manages safety activities on assigned projects, within the prefabrication facility, or across assigned work areas. This role conducts inspections, provides training, supports crews and supervisors, responds to incidents, tracks corrective actions, and drives compliance with company, OSHA, client, project, and facility safety requirements. This is the operational safety leader closest to the work. The role exists to help supervisors and employees recognize hazards, correct unsafe conditions, understand expectations, and maintain safe work practices every day.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct jobsite, prefabrication facility, and assigned-area inspections to identify unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors, and compliance gaps.• Document inspection findings clearly and communicate corrective actions to responsible parties.• Follow up on corrective actions until issues are resolved or escalated.• Support supervisors and crews in identifying hazards before work begins, not after incidents occur.• Deliver or support safety training, toolbox talks, orientations, and task-specific instruction.• Coach Foremen, supervisors, shop leaders, and employees on company safety expectations and regulatory requirements.• Support high-risk work planning, job hazard analysis, pre-task planning, and safe work practices.• Respond to incidents, near misses, injuries, property damage, unsafe conditions, and safety concerns within assigned areas.• Support incident investigations by gathering facts, documenting conditions, and identifying corrective actions.• Escalate serious incidents, repeated noncompliance, and high-risk conditions to the Senior Safety Manager.• Support compliance with OSHA, client, project, facility, and internal safety requirements.• Maintain accurate inspection records, training records, incident documentation, and corrective-action status.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Experience in construction safety, industrial safety, OSHA compliance, safety inspections, training, or field supervision.• Ability to conduct inspections, identify hazards, support supervisors, document findings, and drive corrective actions to closure.• Strong communication, coaching, documentation, and practical problem-solving skills.• Ability to work in field, jobsite, prefabrication/shop, and office environments.• Electrical construction, specialty contracting, prefabrication/manufacturing, or field leadership experience preferred.• OSHA training, safety certification, incident investigation training, and first aid/CPR preferred.• Experience with safety management platforms, incident reporting systems, training documentation, and Microsoft 365.• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to assigned project locations.
