- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active Washington State Dental Anesthesia Assistant (DAA) certification, which includes: Successful completion of a commission-approved training program, such as: DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination) through AAOMS
- Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistants course via CALAOMS
- Resuscitation Group – Vancouver, WA (Approved June 1, 2018) Or other substantially equivalent education and training approved by the commission
- Documentation required: certificate of completion or transcript
- Completion of approved intravenous access or phlebotomy training, which includes: Eight hours of didactic instruction covering: Intravenous access, anatomy, technique, risks, and complications
- Hands-on training with at least 10 successful IV starts on a human or manikin
- Documentation required: certificate, letter, or transcript that includes course description
- BLS certification (or completed within 1 month of hire) Excellent attention to detail and strong patient safety awareness
- Solid teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- ACLS and/or PALS certification
- Prior experience assisting in oral and maxillofacial surgical settings
- Radiology certification
- Licensed dental assistant credentials
